Marie Calender Cornbread

1 C. melted butter 1 1/4 C. cornmeal

1 1/3 C. sugar 2 3/4 C. flour

2 C. buttermilk* 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

4 eggs 1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

Mix butter, sugar, buttermilk, eggs, and salt.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Bake in greased 9x13 pan at 375 degrees for

about 35 minutes, until light brown on top.

*To make your own buttermilk, add 1 Tbs

lemon juice or vinegar to 1 C. of milk.
